Information Collection & Use
Registration
In order to use this Website, you must first complete the registration form and create a password. During registration, you are required to provide your contact information (such as your name and email address). We use this information to contact you about the site services in which you have expressed interest. For security reasons, we also ask you to provide your telephone number, which will be used only in case of your first money withdrawal or an emergency.
You have the option of providing background information (such as income history, work experience, and education) to us; we encourage you to submit this information so that we can provide you with a more personalized experience on our site.
FaceContact Ltd., a UK company having its registered office at 15A High Street, Battle, East Sussex, TN33 0AE, England ("FaceContact") is the sole owner of the information collected on FaceContact.com. FaceContact collects personally identifiable information from its users at several different points on the Website.
Orders
If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as your name, email address, and shipping address) and financial information (such as your credit card number and card expiration date).
We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.
Application Forms
If you purchase services requiring financial information on our site, we require that you provide certain personally identifiable information, including your name, address, telephone number, credit card number, and Social Security number or your company information. This information is necessary to process your application and to contact you.
Tell-A-Friend
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. FaceContact stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of the referral program.
You may also choose to manually enter or upload data about your contacts into the private “Address Book” section of our Website. All information entered there will be viewable only by you and site administrators and will not be searchable by others in the FaceContact network without your permission.
All information that you enter or upload about your contacts will be covered by the same terms of this privacy policy that cover your own personally identifiable information.
Your friend may contact us at privacy@FaceContact.com to request that we remove this information from our database.
Cookies & Log Files:
Like most Websites, FaceContact uses cookies and Web log files to track site usage. A cookie is a tiny data file that resides on your computer and allows FaceContact to recognize you as a user when you return to our site using the same computer and Web browser. Unfortunately, if your browser settings do not allow cookies, you will not be able to use our Website. As with the information you enter at registration or in your Profile, cookies and log file data are used to customize your experience on the Website.
One type of cookie, known as a “persistent” cookie, is set once you’ve logged into your FaceContact account. The next time you visit the FaceContact Website, the persistent cookie will allow us to recognize you as an existing user so you will not need to log in before using the service. However, to access or change any of your private information (such as a credit card number), you must log in securely again with your password even if your computer contains your persistent cookie. Additionally, if you log out of the FaceContact site you will need to re-enter your password the next time you visit in order to log in to your account. Another type of cookie, called a “session” cookie, is used to identify a particular visit to the FaceContact site. Session cookies expire after a short period of time or when you close your Web browser.
In accordance with communications standards on the Internet, when you visit the FaceContact Website we automatically receive the URL of the site from which you came and the site to which you are going when you leave FaceContact. We also receive the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), information about your computer’s operating system and the type of Web browser that you are using, and the name of your ISP. This information is used to analyze trends and help us improve FaceContact service. The linkage between your IP address and your personally identifiable information is never shared with third parties without your permission, except when required by law.
Web Beacons:
We allow other companies, called ad networks, to present advertisements to FaceContact users. Ad networks include third-party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors, and research firms. FaceContact may “target” some ads to users with a certain profile. However, FaceContact does NOT use personally identifiable information to target ads.
To deliver these ads properly, FaceContact may include a file called a Web beacon from these ad networks within pages served by FaceContact, so the networks may provide anonymous, aggregated auditing, research, and reporting for their advertisers and target ads to you while you visit other Websites.
Because your Web browser must request these advertisements and Web beacons from the ad network’s servers, these companies can view, edit, or set their own cookies, just as if you had requested a Webpage from their site.
These general targets may also be used by ad networks to display targeted ads on other Websites as a substitute for random, irrelevant ads. You will never see additional ads as a result of being a FaceContact user and FaceContact never provides personally identifiable information to any advertiser or third party.
You may opt out of the use of Web beacons in FaceContact pages that you view, and of the placement of cookies by ad networks in your browser.
If you opt out, you will lose the potential benefit of receiving ads that are targeted to your interests.
Children:
Children are not eligible to use our service. Minors (under the age of 18) should neither submit any personal information to us nor use the service.
Uses of Information
FaceContact is an online service dedicated to helping all types of professionals more effectively connect with each other. The personally identifiable information you choose to provide on this site is used to help you describe yourself to other users. Other information that does not personally identify you as an individual is collected by FaceContact from the site (e.g., patterns of site utilization) and is exclusively owned by FaceContact. This information can be used by FaceContact in such manner as FaceContact, at its sole discretion, deems appropriate.

Newsletters
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you with a way to unsubscribe. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section of this Privacy Policy.
Service-Related Announcements
We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.
Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature.
Customer Service
Based on the personally identifiable information you provide to us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you to respond to your inquiries, provide the services you request, and manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, in accordance with your wishes as expressed during the registration and ordering processes.
Profile
We store the information that we collect through cookies, log files, and clear gifs to create a “profile” of your preferences. We tie your personally identifiable information and your purchasing history to information in the profile, in order to provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve the content of the site for you.
Agents
We use an outside credit card processing company to charge you for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.
Legal Disclaimer
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Website
Choice and Opt-out
We provide you with the opportunity to opt out of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes when we request this information. For example, if you purchase a service, but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference on the site or by emailing us at privacy@FaceContact.com.
If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication or by emailing us at privacy@FaceContact.com.
Information Sharing
Sharing Information With Third Parties:
FaceContact takes the privacy of its users very seriously. We will never sell, rent, or otherwise provide your personally identifiable information to any third parties for marketing purposes. We will share your personally identifiable information with third parties only to carry out your instructions and to provide specific services. For instance, we use a credit card processing company to bill users for subscription fees. These third parties do not retain, share, or store any personally identifiable information except to provide these services and are bound by strict confidentiality agreements that limit their use of such information.
FaceContact offers a “public profile” feature that allows users to publish portions of their FaceContact profile, including “name”, but not “email address,” to the public Internet. Users may opt out of this feature. However FaceContact does not warrant how third-party search engines will update their cache.
We may provide aggregated data about the usage of our services to third parties for such purposes as we, at our sole discretion, deem to be appropriate. We may segment our users by role (i.e., product managers, vice presidents), industry, geographic location, and company. If you would like to be excluded from the aggregated research or from products based on aggregated data about our users’ activities on the site, please email customer service at info@facecontact.com.
Partnering with Other Organizations to Offer Combined Services:
FaceContact partners with other online services to provide users with the combined results of both services. Whenever we offer such combined services, making use of the combined services will be your choice. In these cases, your personally identifiable information will be passed from FaceContact to the partner only if you choose to use the combined service.
Communications Between Users:
Many of the emails that you initiate through FaceContact, such as an invitation sent to a non-user, will display your email address and name in the header of the message. Emails that you initiate may also provide aggregate information about your network (e.g., how many people are in your network), but will never list the people to whom you’re directly connected. Other communications that you initiate through the FaceContact Website, such as a request for contact, will list your name as the initiator but will not include your personal contact information. Your contact information will be shared with another user only if both of you have indicated that you would like to establish contact with each other.
Accessing and Changing Your Account Information
You can review the personal information you have provided to us and change that information, or the settings for your FaceContact account, at any time by logging into your account on the FaceContact Website and editing the information on your Profile page. If you close your FaceContact account, we will remove your name and other personally identifiable information from our publicly viewable data. We may retain certain data contributed by you if it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as the analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data or account recovery, or if required by law. All retained data will continue to be subject to the terms of the FaceContact Privacy Policy.
Security
In order to secure your personal information, access to your data on FaceContact is password-protected, and sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your Web browser and our Website. To protect any data you store on our servers, we regularly audit our system for vulnerabilities and attacks and we use a tier-one, secure-access data center.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
FaceContact may update this Privacy Policy. If there are significant changes in the way we treat your personally identifiable information, we will display a notice on this site. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account.
